One of the fastest ways to tip me into overwhelm was to spend too long on my phone (or youtube, or computer, you get the idea).
Yet, paradoxically, when I was super drained from the week and wanted to “turn my brain off” I’d end up back on my phone.
Scrolling away endlessly.
Whiling away the minutes until they became hours.
I’d likely planned something nourishing, like a meditation time or a bath or a soothing energetic clearing practice…yet, by the time I crawled out of my latest youtube hole it’d be (way past) time for bed.
Gah! Why do I do this to myself?? I thought.
I had such great intentions at the start of the night. That saying I told myself, “I’ll just watch one video” became my slippery slope into an evening on a screen.
Then I’d feel so disappointed in how I spent my time, and my precious energy…not building it up, but tearing it down.
During the day, I found myself looking at my phone when I didn’t remember even unlocking it. It was so automatic for me to check my phone anytime I felt uncomfortable, bored, annoyed, you name it.
It was so automatic I realized it had become a deeply entrenched habit.
One that didn’t support my Highly Sensitive self, my nervous system, or my energy body.
And honestly, I got to a point where I just wasn’t ok with it anymore.
So, I started experimenting.
I read books.
I tried new habits.
I realized habits have very little to do with willpower (in the long term that is, more on that in Healing Habits), that my emotional state affected wayyyy more than I realized, and that it is indeed possible to UNPLUG from your phone.
While still using it for work and life.
This course isn’t about throwing your phone into a river and calling it job done.
No. This course is about learning how to dance with technology AND learn energetic self-care practices to look after ourselves better.
Then we can go about the business of life in a brand new way. We can have more energy, more calmness, less anxiety, and more connection to our soul self.
Healing Habits has two meanings:
- A play on words for “healing” bad habits and replacing them with more supportive, good habits
- Learning healing habits in our daily lives with sacred self-care at the core, so we feel calmer, more grounded, and more centered in our Self.
Healing Habits is about changing the way you spend your energy as a Highly Sensitive Human in a highly technological world.
We’ll be diving into simple yet powerful practices to rewire our connections to all things digital like phones, netflix, and the socials.
Who is the Healing Habits Course for?
Highly Sensitive, Empathic, and Intuitive people who are building an intentional life
Those that know they have more they want to do with their time than get stuck on their phones (like paint, draw, create a business course, anything!)
Those that want to learn energetic rituals and nervous system based practices for daily sacred self-care, grounding, and centering
What you will learn:
Create new habits and patterns to support your physical, mental, emotional, and energetic self-care
Digital mindfulness habits as you re-wire your connection to your phone
Ways to increase your focus, calmness, and creativity
We’ll be diving deep into why “bad” habits are so hard to kick and why “good” habits can be hard to learn. (Though it’ll be way more fun in our lovely group rather than trying to do this alone!)
